If you are or become a patient, your health information is also protected by federal and California health privacy laws. For the terms that govern your use of this site, see our Terms of Use.

  • first and last name
  • phone number

Our contact form asks for your first and last name, phone number and email address, plus anything you write in the “How can we help?” box.

How we use and share information

We use the information we collect to:

  • verify your insurance benefits and explain your options
  • respond to your calls, messages and questions
  • schedule assessments and appointments
  • send text messages you have agreed to receive
  • run, secure and improve our website
  • meet our legal obligations

We share information only with service providers that help us run our business, such as our call tracking and texting provider, website host and analytics provider, with your insurance company when we verify your benefits, and when the law requires it.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with other companies for their own marketing.

Forms and health information

Our insurance verification form asks about your health insurance. Because this information relates to your health care, we treat what you submit as protected health information and handle it as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices.

We use your form details to check your benefits with your insurance company and to contact you about the results. Checking your benefits does not guarantee coverage. Your insurance company makes coverage decisions.

Please do not include details about your diagnosis, treatment or medical history in a website form. Call us at (949) 844-3813 to talk it through with our team.

Call tracking and recording

We use CallRail, a call tracking service, to understand which pages and ads lead people to call us. The phone number you see on our website may be a tracking number that forwards to our main line. When you call, the service logs details such as your phone number and the time and length of the call.

Calls may be recorded. California law requires the consent of everyone on a call before it is recorded, so you will hear a message at the start of the call telling you the call may be recorded. If you prefer not to be recorded, you can end the call and reach us through our contact form instead.

We use call details and recordings to follow up on your request, train staff and improve our service. Only staff who need them can access them, and we protect them the same way we protect other health information.

Text messages

If you agree to receive texts from Higher Purpose Recovery, we send messages about your inquiry, insurance verification, scheduling, appointment reminders and follow-up from our admissions team. Our full Text Messaging Terms explain the program.

  • Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
  • Reply STOP to opt out at any time. Reply HELP for help, or call (949) 844-3813.
  • Consent to receive texts is not a condition of receiving services.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.

Text messages are not a secure way to share detailed health information. Please do not text us about your diagnosis, medications or treatment history. Texts are not monitored for emergencies.

Cookies, analytics and tracking

We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how people use our website, such as which pages are viewed and how visitors find us. These tools use cookies and similar technologies.

We do not send the information you enter in our forms, including your name, contact details, date of birth or insurance details, to analytics or advertising tools.

Tracking by other companies

Google may collect information about your activity on our website, and on other websites over time, through Google Analytics. Google’s use of this information is governed by Google’s Privacy Policy. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.

How we respond to Do Not Track signals

Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. Our website does not currently change how it collects information when it receives one.

How we protect information

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards suited to the sensitivity of the information we hold. These include encrypted (HTTPS) connections on our website and limiting access to staff who need the information to do their jobs.

Federal law requires vendors that handle health information on our behalf to sign a Business Associate Agreement with us, which obligates them to protect that information.

No method of sending or storing information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep information

  • Patient records: at least seven years after treatment ends, or seven years after a patient turns 18 if they were treated as a minor, as California law requires.
  • Inquiries from people who do not become patients (form submissions, call records and recordings, and text messages): kept only as long as needed to respond to your inquiry and keep our business records, then deleted.
  • Website analytics data: kept for no longer than 14 months.
